From the outset, Ali and Ben had a clear vision for their new kitchen. They wanted a space that combined timeless English character with the functionality of modern family life. It needed to be beautiful, but also practical - with ample storage, a thoughtful layout, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Working with us at Charter Walk, the couple set about bringing this vision to life: a traditional Old English chef’s kitchen, complete with marble worktops and a generous refectory style dining table at its centre. The design also incorporates one of our bespoke Chef’s Tables, creating a natural gathering point for the family, and our signature walk-in pantry, blending elegance with everyday organisation.
Every element of the cabinetry was handmade by our team, designed to complement Ali and Ben’s ideas rather than impose a style of its own.
At the heart of the room sits a striking black Aga, a feature that Ali and Ben were set on from the beginning. It adds warmth, tradition, and a timeless focal point, enhancing the Old English feel while providing all the practicality a busy family needs.
The design continues into the adjoining utility, pantry, and boot room, ensuring a sense of continuity and flow throughout the home. Each space carries the same timeless cabinetry and bespoke finishes, all chosen to reflect the family’s own sense of style.
Soft, natural tones bring a calm brightness to the interiors, while the mix of traditional cabinetry and modern architecture makes the home truly unique. Whether gathered around the dining table for family meals or entertaining friends, the space is perfect for every occasion.
For Ali and Ben, the kitchen is more than just a place to cook. It’s where family life unfolds, memories are made. We were delighted to bring their vision to life, creating a kitchen that feels as timeless as the Georgian home it belongs to, yet perfectly suited to modern family living.Â
This beautiful project was recently featured in Country Homes and Interiors Magazine, and we’re proud to have been part of it.

This Surrey home has been a joy to work on - a project that beautifully balances Georgian character with the needs of modern family life. From the bespoke Chef’s Table and our signature Charter Walk Pantry to the timeless presence of a black Aga, every detail was designed to create a kitchen at the true heart of the home.
If you’ve been inspired by this project and are considering a bespoke kitchen in Surrey or the surrounding areas, we’d love to talk about how we can bring the same level of craftsmanship and thoughtful design to your own home.
