Shaded White In-Frame Kitchen - Haslemere, Surrey

Shaded White Bespoke Kitchen Haslemere in Surrey

Set within a newly built timber frame home in Hammer, Haslemere, this kitchen was designed for Mike and Joanna as part of a wider vision for a warm, welcoming family space.

With a busy household and an open plan layout to consider, the brief was not just about how the kitchen would look, but how it would feel to live in day to day. The style of the architecture naturally guided the kitchen design - a barn-style build that called for something timeless and quietly confident.

The cabinetry, finished in Farrow & Ball Shaded White, brings a softness to the space. It’s a colour that sits comfortably within the natural palette of the home, allowing the light to move easily across the room throughout the day. It creates a calm backdrop for the materials and detailing to come through.

Underfoot, the polished natural marble flooring - chosen by the client - reflects both natural and artificial light, adding a feeling of understated luxury.

At the centre of the room, the island was positioned to work with the scale of the space rather than compete with it. In a kitchen of this size, it would have been easy for it to feel oversized. Instead, it’s proportioned to sit comfortably within the room, giving generous workspace while still allowing the kitchen to breathe around it.

The surrounding cabinetry was designed in long, uninterrupted runs, so it feels part of the architecture rather than furniture placed within it. This approach keeps the space visually calm, even with the level of storage required for a busy family home.

Much of the bespoke thinking is in what isn’t immediately obvious. Storage has been designed to work hard without drawing attention to itself - deep pantry drawers that allow everything to be seen at a glance, internal configurations that remove the need for clutter on worktops, and a bifold breakfast cabinet that can be opened up or closed away depending on the moment.

The cooking area is given a clear sense of place within the room. Framed by a mantle and centred around the Rangemaster range, it becomes a natural focal point without feeling overly formal - something that reflects the character of the house.

Material choices were deliberately paired back. The warmth of the burnished brass handles from the Greenwich collection by Handle & Handle sits quietly against the painted cabinetry, while the Mistero Oro quartz worktops provide durability without adding visual noise. Nothing is there to stand out on its own; each element supports the overall feel of the space.

What has been created is a kitchen that feels settled. Made up of careful decisions about proportion, layout and material. The result is a space that works effortlessly for everyday life, while still holding a sense of quiet refinement.

We design, manufacture and install bespoke luxury kitchens across Haslemere, Surrey and Hampshire. Our work includes handmade kitchens and classic inframe and layon kitchens, each one tailored to the architecture of the home and the way it is used.

Every project is approached individually, combining thoughtful design with carefully considered materials and craftsmanship.
