Handcrafted In-Frame Cottage Kitchen - Milford, Surrey

Working with our clients Tim and Frankie in Milford was a pleasure. They were actively involved in the design of their bespoke kitchen from the beginning.

The new oak-framed extension was built on a footprint similar to the original kitchen space, which was located on the side of the family's beautiful home. As the kitchen area was enlarged, this allowed the ergonomics and design to be significantly improved from the previous layout.

Being a large family, having a spacious island with seating was essential for hosting and socialising. We also incorporated an open shelf under the island to display their much-used cookbook collection. We incorporated an Aga, a key design component, to achieve a charming cottage ambience. The chimney surround from the original building provided the perfect spot to locate it. The oak beam above it draws the eye and is a standout feature of this kitchen.

Plenty of dry and cold food storage was essential, so we built a beautiful larder next to their new American-style fridge freezer. Another important feature on their wish list was a breakfast dresser, so we designed a bi-fold dresser on the opposite side of the kitchen to the main area. This allows for easy access to breakfast, coffee, and other items without crossing over to the chef's side of the kitchen during busy times.

The cabinets have been painted in Farrow & Ball Light Grey, with beautiful Giara white bronze country knobs and cups. The design features glazed wall cabinets, open shelves, and an open island area, all working together to create a welcoming and homely feel. The Caesarstone Moorland Fog quartz worktop ties everything together perfectly.

I think you'll agree that the result is fantastic and a project we really enjoyed being part of.
