Contemporary In-Frame Kitchen - Witley

A Contemporary In-Frame Kitchen for a Modern Home in Witley

When James and Kelly set out to rethink the ground floor of their modern Witley home, they wanted more than a simple update. They wanted a space that felt considered - where the kitchen, utility and living areas would work effortlessly together, and where every detail had been carefully thought through.

Reconfiguring the layout was key. The existing kitchen at the front of the house didn’t suit the way they wanted to live. By moving it to the back, they were able to create a much larger, lighter space - one that now forms a natural hub for family life and entertaining.

At the same time, part of the garage was converted into a combined utility and boot room - a hardworking space that takes care of life’s practicalities and allows the kitchen to remain calm and clutter-free. The former kitchen was transformed into a new living room, where we’ve already installed bespoke cabinetry to tie the whole design together. (Photos to follow soon.)

Classic in-frame kitchen with contemporary style

Right from the start, James and Kelly knew they wanted a classic in-frame kitchen - but with a contemporary feel that would complement their modern home. The cabinetry we designed strikes exactly that balance: beautifully crafted, with clean lines and an understated elegance that will stand the test of time.

Storage was a big priority, as was making the kitchen a space that worked for both everyday family life and entertaining. The large signature Charter Walk pantry gives generous storage for dry goods, while a dedicated bar and wine area - neatly hidden behind bifold doors - comes into its own when friends and family are round.

The island is the centrepiece of the space, finished in Farrow & Ball’s deep, sophisticated ‘Railings’ and topped with crisp white quartz. Alongside seating, it also houses an integrated dog bed for the couple’s two much-loved Labradors - a practical and considered touch that keeps the space feeling relaxed and welcoming. There’s another built-in dog bed in the walkway between kitchen and utility, beneath a raised cabinet, helping to create a sense of continuity between the spaces.

Consistant style flowing through the utility & bootroom

That sense of flow was really important to the couple. The same cabinetry style carries through into the utility and boot room, so the transition between spaces feels seamless and intentional. Behind the stylish exterior, it’s a space designed to work hard - with room for laundry, boots, coats and more.

Every finish was carefully chosen to reflect the couple’s style and the way they wanted to use the space. The richness of the Farrow & Ball Railings cabinetry contrasts beautifully with the white quartz surfaces, and the clients’ own selection of Miele appliances ensures the kitchen performs as well as it looks.

Designed to last

James and Kelly now have a kitchen that feels both timeless and tailored to the way they live. It’s a space that will serve them well for years to come - whether that’s busy mornings, relaxed weekends, or evenings spent entertaining.

We’ll be sharing images of the living room cabinetry soon — and look forward to seeing this beautifully reimagined ground floor come fully to life.
