Bespoke In-Frame Kitchen - Liphook, Hampshire

This was a wonderful kitchen to design and progress with our client Emma for her home in Liphook, Hampshire.

We love making in-frame cabinets. It’s the traditional way all cabinets use to be made with the hanging of the doors on their frames and also sitting the drawers within their frames.

The large white Aga needed to be the starting point for the design. We wanted it to draw the eye and create a kitchen centrepiece. We did this by incorporating a canopy, which also houses the extractor, and by adding a mirrored splashback.

As the social heart of the home it was important that the island had a real presence in the room. Emma and Gboyega wanted to be able to seat the kids and guests whilst cooking and entertaining in their home.

With so many windows it meant that wall space was at a premium and so it was vital that we created plenty of storage where we could. We did this by incorporating a bank of tall cabinets along one wall, including dresser storage to hide away kitchen appliances - as well as cabinets under the island and drawer storage beneath the window seat. Storage is key in family kitchens and we felt in this design the space was fully utilised.

The ergonomics, storage and muted colour palette make this kitchen functional as well as desirable and most of all calming!
