Scandi Style Handleless Kitchen - Reigate, Surrey

This Reigate family home began life in the 1970s but has recently been completely renovated. The refurbishment was carried out to an exceptionally high standard, with every detail carefully considered. For Ash and Minita, the brief was clear: a contemporary, handleless scandi-style kitchen defined by calm materials, clean lines and clever storage, designed to support everyday family life without visual clutter.

The result is a modern luxury kitchen that feels composed and effortless. Understated rather than minimal, it balances warmth and precision in a way that feels both timeless and distinctly current.

The simplicity of the design allows the materials to take centre stage. Light oak cabinetry, with matching internals, runs uninterrupted from wall to wall. The tone and grain of the wood brings texture and natural warmth to the space, while the handleless detailing reinforces the Scandinavian influence.

Integrated lighting washes gently across the worktops, softening the space and drawing attention to the craftsmanship rather than the mechanics. At the island, the matte black Bora hob sits flush within the surface, reinforcing the pared-back aesthetic. Tall cabinetry conceals appliances and provides storage, including neatly housed Neff ovens and a built-in fridge, ensuring the room feels calm, ordered and effortlessly functional.

The island mirrors the same oak finish, grounding the space while offering generous preparation and seating space. The worktops are finished in Caesarstone Cloudburst Concrete, chosen for its stone like appearance, it introduces contrast without heaviness, sitting comfortably alongside the light oak and reinforcing the restrained palette.

Storage has been approached with precision. A hidden door leads seamlessly into the utility room, keeping practical spaces out of sight while maintaining visual continuity. Within the kitchen itself, foldaway pocket doors conceal the breakfast station, allowing appliances and storage to disappear when not in use. A Le Mans corner mechanism makes the most of awkward corner space, while an open cabinet with a built-in wine cooler adds interest without disrupting the clean lines of the design.

Appliances are integrated with the same restraint throughout. Alongside the Bora hob and Neff ovens, a slim wine fridge, a built-in tall fridge, and a Blanco composite sink paired with a gunmetal grey Quooker Flex tap provide everyday functionality while maintaining the kitchen’s understated aesthetic.

The utility room continues the same language of calm and clarity, finished in a soft white palette that feels light and purposeful. Hidden from view yet carefully detailed, it supports the kitchen without competing with it.

What defines this contemporary kitchen is not any single feature, but the discipline of the design. Every line has been considered, every mechanism chosen for how it improves daily life. It’s a space that feels calm and luxurious - modern, warm and quietly confident.
