Nick and Sarah’s bespoke kitchen project was all about creating a space that blended beautifully with their home while bringing their vision to life. The goal was a kitchen that wasn’t just practical but also stylish and welcoming - a true heart of the home.
The project began with replacing their old conservatory with a well-insulated extension featuring large windows and doors to connect the house to the garden. This new space would house a bespoke kitchen, while their existing kitchen became a handy utility room. To ensure the new kitchen felt like a natural extension of their home, the design focused on creating flow between the new and existing spaces. Matching flooring and handcrafted cabinetry brought everything together, giving the space flow and a sense of continuity.
The couple’s much-loved EverHot oven set the tone for the kitchen’s colour palette. The Farrow & Ball Duck Green cabinetry, paired with brass accents and charcoal window frames, creates a timeless, elegant look. These colours not only complement each other but also reflect the character of the space.
The centrepiece of the kitchen is a chef’s island, designed to sit perfectly within the space. It allows natural light to flow from one end of the room to the other and provides a versatile area for cooking, entertaining, or simply gathering as a family.
Built-in appliances keep the space clean and uncluttered, while a larder and bi-fold dresser add both charm and functionality. These thoughtful details make the kitchen not only a joy to look at but also a pleasure to use.
Nick and Sarah’s handmade kitchen is now the heart of their home - a space where style meets practicality and where memories are already being made. It’s a beautiful example of how thoughtful design can transform a house into a home.
