This beautiful contemporary handleless kitchen in Haslemere was planned for quite some time. It is located in an eco-home with state-of-the-art technology, so the design had to have strong lines to match the technology. The owners were downsizing from a large country manor, so the space needed to remain compact and functional while still being stylish and modern.
Innovative technology has made it possible to create space-efficient kitchens with appliances like the Bora extracting hob on the island and a tap with boiling water. A good-sized larder is ideal for storing dry foods, while a healthy-sized refrigerator and freezer can be kept close by.
For this kitchen, we chose a very durable Dekton worktop that can withstand the demands of a smaller kitchen. The use of industrial colours and textures with the cabinets brings depth and edginess to the space, but this is balanced with beautiful horizontal grain oak that adds a contrasting texture and finish.
Handleless kitchens look good in most properties, but when they're sitting in a space brimming with 21st-century technology and have strong lines and clean angles, they accentuate modernism at their best.
