Bespoke Pigeon Kitchen - Fernhurst, Surrey
Nestled in the quiet village of Fernhurst in Surrey, this turn of the century home now has a bespoke kitchen that feels calm, welcoming and thoughtfully put together. Our clients wanted a space that would sit gently within the character of their home – something elegant but easy to live in, with the kind of practical details that make everyday cooking and gathering feel effortless. The result is a luxury kitchen that doesn’t shout for attention, but quietly feels just right.
The cabinetry is painted in Farrow & Ball Pigeon, a soft green-grey that works beautifully with the natural light. The island, finished in Inchyra Blue, adds depth and anchor to the room without overwhelming it. You’ll find the same tone inside selected cabinets too, so there’s a lovely sense of continuity that reveals itself as you use the kitchen. Antique brass knobs and cup handles were the finishing touch – warm, tactile, and perfectly in keeping with the home.
This bespoke kitchen was designed around how the space is used day to day. The pantry cupboard, softly lit from within, keeps food beautifully organised and easy to access. A bifold coffee station with a small prep sink and hidden microwave keeps the worktops free from clutter, and a bespoke knife block drawer and tongue and groove panelling behind the glass cabinets show the level of care and craftsmanship in every detail. Even the American style fridge freezer is fully built in, allowing the room to feel calm and cohesive.
Across from the main cooking area sits a dresser style sideboard, with a warm wooden worktop and glass fronted cabinets that display favourite glassware and pottery. This area also houses a discreet under counter fridge – ideal when hosting or simply enjoying a relaxed weekend at home.
The much loved Aga was always going to remain the heart of the kitchen. Framed with a simple mantle shelf, it feels settled and central, a place everyone naturally gravitates towards. Gentle lighting beneath the wall cabinets adds a soft glow in the evenings, while the plinth lighting under the island gives a subtle, floating effect that brings a little warmth and atmosphere at the end of the day.
What has been created here is more than just a kitchen. It’s a room that invites conversation, lingering cups of tea, cooking together and gathering around. A bespoke luxury kitchen in Fernhurst that feels rooted, lived-in and entirely at home in its Surrey surroundings.
