Bespoke Georgian Kitchen, Haslemere

Bespoke Georgian Kitchen, Haslemere

Bespoke Georgian Kitchen, Haslemere There’s something rather special about Georgian houses. They carry a sense of history and proportion that feels timeless. Our clients in Haslemere took that 19th-century charm and transformed their home into a bespoke kitchen-living space made for entertaining, relaxing and everyday family life.

The downstairs was completely reconfigured, dramatically changing the footprint of the house. A striking glass extension at one end now floods the living areas with natural light, while the kitchen itself was extended to become the real heart of the home. Alongside it, a utility, study and boot room were added - spaces that keep the house running smoothly without stealing the limelight.

As you step inside, the island makes the first impression: sleek, handleless, and wrapped in a rich dark wood finish. It’s contemporary and bold, but it sits beautifully alongside the more traditional cabinetry around the room, painted in Farrow & Ball’s Slipper Satin. That balance of old and new continues throughout the house, with matching wood TV stations to tie the scheme together.

The island isn’t just about looks. It houses a Bora extracting hob, cleverly hidden behind a raised worktop. This creates a natural divide, turning the other side into a welcoming seating area - perfect for friends to gather with a glass in hand while supper is cooking.

Miele ovens are tucked neatly into the cabinetry, and a generous American-style fridge freezer is integrated seamlessly. A signature Charter Walk pantry keeps everyday essentials organised, while a bi-fold dresser in the corner provides a practical home for small appliances like the microwave and toaster.

Finishing touches bring the whole scheme to life. A patinated brass Quooker hot tap, along with matching knobs and pulls from Weyland, add warmth and character. Calacatta Gold worktops introduce just the right amount of luxury, their soft veining catching the light above subtle under-island lighting. Even the drawers have been carefully considered, with hidden compartments that make everyday living effortless. Underfoot, generously sized porcelain limestone effect tiles give the space a calm, grounded feel.

What works so well about this project is that the design doesn’t stop at the kitchen door. The same cabinetry continues into the utility, study and boot room, creating a seamless flow as you move through the house. Every detail has been thought through, but nothing feels forced.

This Haslemere home is proof that Georgian style and a contemporary vision can work in perfect harmony. The result is a house that’s elegant yet relaxed, practical yet beautiful - ready for parties, family gatherings and everyday life.
