Bespoke Contemporary Kitchen, Chiddingfold

We love this stunning kitchen for all the reasons that are plain to see but especially as it was a wonderful opportunity for us to create a bespoke kitchen for our client's home in the rambling countryside near Chiddingfold.

Our clients, Steve and Alice were keen to have a contemporary twist to their new kitchen but wanted to retain a nod to the classic farmhouse style kitchen they had previously.

To achieve the brief we decided on in-frame but stripped down to its simplest form in order to keep the lines clean and the design simple but super stylish. Once we had the style of cabinets and the flat fronted detailing we then focused on tone. By bringing in the natural wood it really complimented the outdoors but also the existing oak accents in the house. So we chose to have the wall cabinets and rear of the island finished in oak which perfectly enhanced the light grey painted cabinets. To keep to the brief of a contemporary kitchen married in with a classic style we kept the oak doors as handleless whilst the painted cabinets have a knurled stainless steel handle to give an industrial edge to the scheme.

It is rare that we get to design a kitchen like this one that needs to house so many features, such as;

The larder was the main focus and we managed to make this pantry style larder a real work of art! The depth of the cupboard meant lighting was key as well as shelving above and below the curved worktop which was fitted between 2 tall open shelf cabinets.

The bi-fold dresser which sits above an open dog bed both located in a part of the kitchen which meant it was not in the way when the chefs are at work!

The wine cooler and fridge freezer have their own space and with the fridge fully integrated and hidden meant the wine could really be seen and look over the wine trough which is in easy refilling distance! The glazed wall cabinet on the end of the section with the small drink serving area below gives a nice feature to the end of the tall cabinets.

The hob was the main feature on the island and with the Bora Pure X (one of the first to be fitted in UK) you get a very good extractor and hob in one – the best on the market and the clients favourite feature along with the Quooker hot water tap and beautiful veined marble worktop.
